Oh and a review of the movie, I doubt I can be what you call impartial in a review, but…

I own the original, and I am glad I own both.   Scramble City, Commercials, so many cool add additions.  Well worth the $17, especially since I spent more on the original!

So I guess a post review takes place after the real review, oh well thats for professionals, spell checkers, and casual D&D players.

So Superman Returns, apparently he must have left in movies I don’t recall. My personal superman enjoyment comes from Louis and Clark, the new adventures of superman. So I may be a little off.

Movie = cheesy, cheesy cheesy goodness. It was a fun movie, superific. With strong religious symbology. Or so some one much smarter than me pointed out :-)

Superman was one of the first super heros launching one of the big geek areas of study. The problem I had with the movie, and superman in general, is that he lacks character flaws. I mean I relate to superman so much. I can fly, I always tell the truth, I always stand for justice and all those things.

Thats odd the show I was just watching mentioned superman…

anyway I like my flawed characters, driven by reason, taint, and personal loss. A selfless person like superman seems like a person that can’t exist, but it is fun dream that they can. Like the little girl behind me kept asking her dad, wheres superman, well I guess thats what I am asking where is our superman? Ah its great to be a cynical person sometimes.

So this is what happens when you write with out collecting your thoughts, or deciding on a point, but like this category you read it you can’t unread it…

Pre-review

I have not seen the new superman yet, but I will be in about four hours. I am expecting nothing going into this. I have read about the script/director/actor problems that have plagued this production. So I am curious to see how it ends up. I will post after I have seen it and then we will know.

While I like Tim Burton’s work, hearing what he had planned for Superman scared me. Justin Timberlake as superman also scared me. Just to mention a few of the problems this movie had to endure.

One thing I think we can all agree on is that Tim Burton and George A. Romero need to make the new transformers movie, failing that at least they should do a zombie movie.

Ah yes geek related talk about music?  thats for another post.

System of a Down, June 25th in Edmonton.  Good show! I would highly recommend seeing them if you are a fan.  If your not a fan your a morron. :-)

It’s weird… when I heard about this movie, I initially had a small amount of hope.  I can hear the howls of “What?!?” already, so allow me to explain.  A year or two ago, I heard that they were making a live-action version of Initial D, and though I was somewhat (shall we say) non-plussed by some of the rumoured changes (i.e. character names, etc.) I was still pretty eager to see it… I rather like a large portion of Initial D… so when I saw the first preview for The Fast and the Furious 3: Tokyo Drift I was sort of thinking that maybe this was it, or Initial D had been cancelled (as I haven’t heard about it since) and thus they had made this instead.

Just to be clear: this movie is nothing like Initial D, and what’s more, it’s what I had in mind when I named this category.  It’s a travesty.  There’s one line that is rather amusing (about three minutes into the movie), and it just goes downhill from there.  Went to it for free (had one of those pre-release passes), but even then it was too expensive, in terms of pure negative-enjoyment (sort of like negative-work) adding up — I think I am still “working off” having seen this movie by playing Super Mario Bros and EVE and just generally trying to have fun.
